Overview

RAM Business Confidence Index (“RAM BCI”) is a comprehensive survey on business sentiments, covering approximately 2,000 SMEs and Corporates across 5 main industry segments in Malaysia:

RAM BCI, a quarterly survey jointly published by Experian and RAM Holdings, measures positive and negative sentiment of SMEs and Corporates on their 6-months forward looking expectations on key aspects namely turnover, profitability, business expansion, hiring, capital investment, capacity utilization and access to bank financing. An index of above 50 indicates a positive sentiment while below 50 indicates a negative sentiment.

Since its inception in January 2017, RAM BCI has proven to be technically strong and capable of providing reliable leading indicators on actual investment and employment trends in guiding businesses’ investment decisions and planning as well as valuable insights for policymakers to better understand the challenges faced by SMEs and Corporates.
